Our Visit to The Charles Dickens Museum in London

Charles Dickens Museum.

While the museum entrance is at 49 Doughty Street, Dickens lived at No. 48, where you can see the blue plaque in the above photograph. No. 49 was purchased in the 20th century and the two properties were merged.

We visited the Charles Dickens Museum in December 2024. This museum was a fascinating experience, and I must say this museum is one of the best we have visited.

From the moment we walked into this magical place, we became even more captivated by the life and works of Charles Dickens, so beautifully and sensitively displayed in this fine historical house.

The staff were excellent and always on hand to answer questions enthusiastically.

Charles Dickens, 7 February 1812 – 9 June 1870, lived at 48 Doughty Street, London, between 1837 and 1839.
